Distance should not deter anyone from planning a trip to Marbella. Today, Marbella is made even more accessible to the world by the Málaga Picasso International Airport. Each day, the airport received hundreds of inbound flights from various points of origin around the globe. From the airport, visitors can get to Marbella in a number of ways.

Long distance buses are the cheapest way to get to Marbella from the airport and there is a direct bus to Marbella from the Malaga airport. To access the station, travelers must exit the main arrivals hall at the right. The bus station is approximately 50 meters away to the right from the exit. Fortunately, it takes only one ride to get to Marbella; other towns are farther and require bus changes.

The bus leaves at 6:15 and every 45 minutes after. The last bus is at 23:45. Travel time is approximately 45 minutes and the total fare would cost under 5 Euro.

Taxis are a substitute to the long distance buses. The taxi stand is right outside the main arrivals hall at the Málaga airport. Travelers just need to exit the arrivals hall at the right-hand exit. It should be remembered that taxis would only take a maximum of 4 people, including children. If there are more than 4 passengers, it would be necessary to book a Málaga airport transfer instead.

Travelers should be aware that taxi queues can be really long. Also, it is advisable to agree with the driver on the fare before boarding the taxi. Drivers carry a book listing all fare rates to and from various points of origin and destinations. They may not offer the book outright, but are supposed to provide it upon request.

Alternatively, the adventurous travelers could hire a car and drive themselves to Marbella! The trip will be much more fun. There are a number of car rental companies with booths right at the Málaga airport lobby.
